Dear Mr(s)._____________:
The field of real estate has fascinated me for as long as I can remember. Therefore, I determined at a fairly early age to make a career of exploring homes and commercial properties to investigate their construction and appreciate unique features and value. After seeing your advertisement for a city appraiser, I knew this was the job for me. Since I have relatives in the Colchester area, my wife and I have been seeking an opportunity to move south for quite some time, and I can assure you if I am selected for this job, I plan on staying in the area for many years.
For over 10 years I have provided services in Manapee, Virginia, as their appraiser. I expertly maintain organized files of all town properties and do drive-by inspections of all land and buildings on the tax rolls once per year. Every three years, as dictated by city guidelines, my staff and I conduct internal inspections, carefully notating any variations since our last visit and appreciating/depreciating each property accordingly.
I believe in an open-door policy where citizens and commercial property owners can meet with me at any time to discuss appraisals, ask questions, and receive thoughtful and qualified information. I supervise a staff of three in my current office and have been acknowledged over the years as a strong leader within the real estate market.
Please review my enclosed resume and contact me at your convenience so that I may elaborate on how your city can benefit by bringing me on board.
Very truly yours,
